Open Putty and use the COM port number for the XDS110 Class Application/User UART. Check in Windows Control Panel, there will be two ports listed - XDS110 Class Application/User UART (COM) and XDS110 Class Auxilliary Data Port (COM). Both of these can be hard coded but I wanted to keep the variables separate from the functions. To check the device name for the serial port of your ESP32 board (or external converter dongle), run this command two times, first with the board / dongle unplugged, then with plugged in. Plug in the USB cable into the PC and connect to the Launchpad. if everything went well, you should see the black window of the serial connection. The settings are: Connection type: Serial Speed: 115200 Serial line: COM3 (in your case the port may be different). location_putty() is the location of the PuTTY executable. Once the driver is installed, configure the serial connection in putty like shown below. oasis_putty_name() is the name of the PuTTY window once it's open, it will depend on the COM port selected.
